Meet Our Leadership Team

Josh Chernikoff
Education entrepreneur Joshua Chernikoff is the Founder and President of Ashley Tutors, a group of 65 tutors that has served over 2500 families in the Washington, D.C. area since 2007. In 2011, Joshua and his team also began to provide tutoring after school and noticed the market inefficiencies in the many student activities taking place after the final bell. Joshua founded Flex Academies the following year. Today Flex Academies has become the nation’s first turn–key solution that systematically and successfully works with families, PTAs, schools, and vendors. The company currently serves the local Washington community and is planning significant regional and nation expansion over the next five years. Joshua has a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University and a B.A. in print journalism from American University.

Kim enjoys traveling and spending time with her British born husband and their two dogs. She is passionate about education and helping students achieve their fullest potential.

Tuere Harding
Tuere Harding is the Group Tutoring Manager for Ashley Tutors. She received her degree in Entrepreneurship from Hampton University. Tuere’s tenacity led her to become very successful in several industries utilizing her entrepreneurship degree, before deciding to follow in the footsteps of her parents and become an educator. She is currently a 4th grade special education teacher in Prince George’s County Public Schools. Tuere believes that an education should empower a child and help him or her to make a positive contribution to our society. When she is not leading our group tutoring initiative at one of our three locations, Tuere spends time with her amazing daughter and has been a long-time volunteer at her church, mentoring youth.

Seth Tendler
Seth Tendler is the Talent Manager for Ashley Tutors. He received his B.A. in English from Arizona State University and his M.Ed. from American University. As a deeply rooted third generation Washingtonian, Seth knew he wanted to return to D.C. and give back to the school system that gave him so much. Since 2011, he has been an English teacher with DCPS at McKinley Technology High School. Seth believes that learning should be fun and that a teacher should be a mentor, coach, and leader, not just somebody standing in front of a class. When he is not finding great tutors to join our team at Ashley Tutors, Seth spends time with his wife, exploring D.C. by bike, enjoying the great outdoors, and traveling anywhere and everywhere he can. He is often heard saying, “take the ride.”
